Chicago Moves Day

Commit to living a healthy and active life at Chicago
Moves Day! The event, in its fifth year, features cardio
kickboxing, stretching, boot camp, interactive games
and various health screenings. Additional
presenting
partners include the U.S. Army, which will present its
unique workout, and Mayor Daleys Bicycle
Ambassadors, who will discuss bicycle safety and
riding techniques.
Chicago Moves Day is free and open to the public.The
annual Chicago Moves Day rally is presented by the
Mayors Fitness Council in cooperation with the
Chicago Park District and the City of Chicago.

Have you been practicing your end zone dance? The
Fleet Feet Sports Soldier Field 10 Mile presented by
adidas is just over a week away!
Participants registered for the 10 Mile Run, 2 Mile
Walk or Kids Race will receive an email on Monday
with their bib number and further information.
Ease race morning stress! Pick up your packet (bib
number, chip, t-shirt and goody bag) in advance.
Packet pick-up hours at Fleet Feet Sports - Pipers

Wednesday, May 21 l 10am-8pm
Thursday, May 22 l 10am-8pm
Friday, May 23 l 10am-8pm
In addition, participants can pick up their packet race
morning from 6am-7am at Soldier Field.
Not registered yet but still want to participate? Have
family and friends coming out to watch you finish on
the 50? Registration for the 2 Mile Fitness Walk is
still available online and in-person at packet pick-
up and on race morning.
We are also still recruiting volunteers to help out at
this unique event. All volunteers receive a t-shirt and
an entry in the world-famous (ok, maybe only city-
famous) Fleet Feet Sports year-end volunteer raffle.

Help out at-risk youth by participating in one of this
weekends great races! The inaugural Alternate
Route
8K Run For Youth, which takes place at 8:30am
on
Sunday, May 18, will be run through beautiful Lincoln
Park.
The USATF Certified route is one of the citys few 8Ks -
and registration is just $30 in advance ($35 on race
day).
Register in person or pick up your packet at Fleet Feet
Sports. The first 250 participants to sign up for the
race will receive a technical t-shirt and all others will
receive a cotton t-shirt.

If a 5K is more your speed, sign up for this Sundays
12th annual Legs For Literacy 5K Fun Run and
Walk.
Registration for the event costs $25 in advance and
$30 on race day - and the first 500 people to register
receive a t-shirt commemorating the event.
Participants can register in advance and pick up their
packet at Fleet Feet Sports. Race day registration will
be held from 8am-8:30am at the race site in Lincoln
Park at Fullerton and Cannon Drive.

CARA Marathon Training Program

Street)
Learn all you need to know about marathon training at
this informative clinic! The SuperClinic will cover
topics including: properly fitting footwear, hydration
and nutrition, and injury prevention and stretching.
Special guest speakers will include Chicago Event
Managements Mike Nishi, Fleet Feet Sports Dave
Zimmer and Hal Higdon. SuperClinic program seating
will be limited to the first 200 guests and is free to
participants in CARAs Bank of America Chicago
Marathon training program. The fee for those not
enrolled in the program is $30 ($20 for CARA
members).
No pre-registration is necessary, and runners that
sign up for CARAs Marathon Training Program at the
SuperClinic can apply their Super Clinic fee towards
their training program fee.

Tuesdays AIDS Marathon Training Program
information meeting and learn how you can help end
the epidemic. The AIDS Marathon training program is
a five to six month program geared to both beginners

experienced runners. In the past ten years, more than
20,000 people have completed the program, with 98%
of them going on to complete a marathon or half
marathon. You can do it too!

Join our weekly women only fun run/walks. Log your
miles and earn great prizes, including shirts, jackets
and gift certificates. Womens group runs take place
every Tuesday at Pipers Alley and Wednesday at
Lincoln Square and Elmhurst.
The last Tuesday and Wednesday of every month (at
Pipers Alley and Lincoln Square) feature an

Run the Daisy Dash 5K! The event features both a 5K
and a Kids Fun Run, and all kids in the Fun Run
receive a finisher medal.
The USATF-certified 5K course runs through
residential Clarendon Hills, and the event benefits
Clarendon Hills D.A.R.E. and the David C. Weber
Foundation.
Sign up now for the best pricing! Registration
for the
5K is just $20 before May 23 - and all participants
who sign up before that date will receive a technical t-
