September is here, school is back in session, and cooler temperatures are finally in the forecast!
That all means were planning our fall race schedule - and hard at work getting ready for our Pumpkins in the Park 5K.

Labor Day Hours/Schedule Changes
In observance of the Labor Day holiday, both of our locations will close at 5pm on Monday, September 6.
In addition, there will be no fun runs on Monday evening at either location. Punch Your Way Into Pumpkins and the Nike Official Bank of America Chicago Marathon Training Runs will return on Monday, September 13.
Finally, Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers will conduct their free monthly injury screens from 6-8pm on Monday, September 13.

Historic Run: Jackson Park and The Worlds Columbian Exposition of 1893

Enjoy this weekends wonderful weather with a scenic run around Jackson Park!
Well start our run with a trolley ride to the former grounds of the Worlds Columbian Exposition of 1893. The grounds, which retain much of their glory, include the Osaka Japanese Garden and the last remaining building from the fair.
As we weave through the park, well look at the century of changes that have taken place since the Exposition closed.
Well travel through the Wooded Island, a nature sanctuary designed to inspire calm and reflection, and a place where thousands of animals call home.
The distance of this run is approximately five miles.
Please allow extra time for the trolley rides to and from Jackson Park. There is a $5 charge (cash only, please) to help cover the cost of the trolley. Also, please note that this months run starts and finishes at our Pipers Alley location.

The Chicago Lung Run

Help make a difference in the fight against lung cancer at next weekends Chicago Lung Run! The event features a 5K and 10K run, 1-mile walk, and rally on the citys beautiful lakefront.
Sign up before September 3, and registration is just $30 for adults ($25 for CARA members) and $15 for children (12 & under). The first 500 participants to register will receive a technical t-shirt and goody bag; all others will receive a cotton t-shirt and goody bag.
